High water at Moezelzicht
The Moselle bursts its banks
Rivers are bursting their banks, the Moselle among them, where a gently flowing river became a wild current and the streets flooded. Many roads are impassable and in several places the town centre is under water.
Moezelzicht under water again
Along the Moselle, in the German states of Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate and in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, a number of streets and houses have flooded. The Moselle is five metres higher than normal, because it has rained heavily over the past days in north-eastern France, where the Moselle rises.

That is down to rainfall. Little of it is noticeable in the centre and north of the Netherlands so far, but German towns such as Cochem are under water. The south of the Netherlands has also suffered from the rising water, with large parts of Limburg flooded.
